Re: Rubber Bands.

I had a class II malocclusion, elastics were used 1 year into treatment. Other factors need to be looked at before you can start with elastics. For some however it does get used at the beginning, totally depends on the patient's situation

Re: Will braces change my profile view.

My lips protruded further than my nose when viewing my profile. I no longer have this, I went through the extraction route on my premolars so surgery isn't neccessary

Re: 10mm overjet

I had an 8mm overjet and I've read a few past stories on here of people having a 10mm overjet without needing surgery. So it is very possible to achieve this without surgery but depends on each individual case I guess. Good luck with it all and I'm sure you'll have a beautiful smile when it's all ov...

Re: Hi. advice appreciated!

You should get a retainer to keep those gnashers in line...If not aye they'll be moving back to where they were originally

Hope all goes well

Re: THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

I have the Ormco ones (Fox and rabbit) and they seem fine for me. I've been wearing them for about 6/7 months. They only break for me once they wear out after about 7-9 hours later, but been stable otherwise.
maybe you should check with your ortho on that one, because the brand seems fine for me

Re: Brace faced at 27!

Hey Shirley, congrats on being braced!

all that goes away in a short while, once your mouth gets used to the metal, it will settle down. give it a week or so and it wont be as bad. If it persists just dob a bit of wax on the affected areas

Re: Braced today!

Do they hurt? Im getting mine tomorrow, and my friends have me scared.. No they don't hurt when you get them put on, they're glued on, getting them on is the easy part. It's more force and pressure you feel after a while and they may be sensitive for a few days or so, which is normal...painkillers ...

Re: Do I continue with treatment?

Hey El, In my opinion and I think what is best is that you should finish your treatment. You'll be bringing all sorts of problems in the future if you just stop, besides the hardest part is out of the way and a year is just a year. Having a perfect smile AND bite, is better than just having a nice s...

Re: Dom's Story

Hey Dom! Well that's a bummer, but good news is you only have to wait until next week. Not far, so it's all good As for waterpiks I recently invested in one of these clever devices, I went for the spam. Bit cheaper and fits snuggly on the bathroom table. For me its pretty worthwhile, it's great how ...

Re: Taking a trip, should I wait to get my braces???

Hi Megan :-1 and congrats on deciding to get braces Putting it simply, your husband is right, getting them sooner rather than later is better I would say. Taking a trip whilst in braces doesn't make any difference..I've travelled a few times whilst in braces with no problems, they don't stop you fro...

Re: 7 WEEKS IN....PHOTOS

Very nice progress indeed, you have lovely teeth to begin with. In regards to the extractions people don't really notice them, because theyre the premolars you can still show a great smile even with the gaps. Plus the metal also works in your favour, can hardly notice the extraction gaps! :D People ...
