Tiff, My brackets were Damon 3 which are partially metal and partially clear. I erally liked how they looked. It was obvious I had braces and not like I was trying to hide anythign yet subtle enough that it was not a shocking look.

I teach junior high and my kids loved teh fact that I had braces. I think they felt like they could relate to me better. I even found that they would come to me with some of their braces issues. Don't worry, school will be your braces "safe zone"

I just finished my 2nd treatment in March. I am so obsessed watching my unbraced teeth to mkae sure they don't plan on shifting on me. so far they still look fine, but I don't want braces a 3rd time.

I am a junior high teacher so most of my students understand if I am having a bad day. I would typically schedule my appointments for Friday afternoons. even my worst adjustments were tolerable by the following Monday. It doesn't always make for the best weekend, but sure makes Happy Hour worthwhile.

As someone who just finished a 2 year treatment as an adult because I had wisdom teeth erupt after my braces came off in high school, I would highly suggest making the appointment as soon as possible. I am 36 and just finished my 2nd round with braces in March. I wanted to get them many years ago, but my husband was very reluctant. he didn't want to have a wife with braces...so I divorced him. I am so glad that I went through with it and wish I had done it many years before. Good Luck
