My face definitely got thinner for awhile. No one can tell me different. One cheek is a bit more profound than the another too. It was bad and a big source of stress for me. It is much better although it is not as full as it was before. I miss my fuller face, but what can you do? I'm gonna ha...

:)

I'm a teacher too. 2nd school yr with them in (although I will have them off waaayyyy before the school year ends). Sometimes rude kids make comments (NOT my students) but for the most part they don't care at all. The students who have braces love the fact that I have them and are extra sympathetic ...

elastics

You know, I don't even remember when I first had my dance with elastics. I think about five months in. Class II for about four months. My O decided to give me a break for two months then I was back on Class II

Had midline elastics for a month

I'm now on triangle elastics (almost done!!!)

square?

Did you get a good look at the wire? If so, was it sort of square looking by any chance?

It could be a square wire (meant to improve your arch). Don't sweat it. Like all things brace related, the pain will ease

I think your teeth look great.

Now if you're feeling some discomfort, then you should definitely tell your ortho about it

and congrats on reaching the home stretch!

Two months in (pics included)

Well, I'm just about two months into my sentence My lips are still swollen and I can't shake this lisp  but I'm doing okay. I'm getting a tooth extracted tomorrow. Personally I can't wait because I hate my lower teeth and whatever it takes for them straighten up I'll do. http://i422.photobucke...

Elastics so soon?

Is it normal to have elastics so early?

I've had my top braces on for a little over a month. At my next adjustment I will get my lowers...in addition to elastics.

I thought elastics was used toward the end of your treatment.

I've been in braces for nearly 5 months now. Perhaps due to my ortho's AGGRESSIVE use of PC's, my front tooth gap is closed now -- of course, I have tons of spaces to close elsewhere so I'm waiting it out too. My adjustments have been about 6-8 weeks apart just depending on what the objective is. R...

Thank you for all the nice replies :D Its now almost a full week with them on...lips are still prone to dryness, jaws feel weird (and it still feels a little funny to smile) but overall it is getting better. Once the school year starts, I know these things will be an afterthought  Please don't ...
