I've had so many people comment on that! The "severe" look in my profile. That picture was taken the morning of my surgery. I was waiting for my cab to pick me up at home and take me to the hospital. I just had my upper jaw advanced 6mm and decided to for go the lower jaw out of worry my f...

iBorg: definitely. When I had braces as a pre-teen I had no idea surgery was even an option and I don't think I'd have gone for it at that age anyway lol Looks like you're ready to be de-braced soon too! Good luck!

It feels amazing to have them off. I ate an apple today and loved every bite! No more having to cut it all up. I've actually heard that from quite a few ppl, that my teeth weren't bad to start, but that picture was taken with my bite "together" and as you can see my teeth didn't meet toget...

Brace-Free :)

I had my braces removed this morning :) WONDERFUL feeling after 31 months. Neat collage my ortho office puts together in the "farewell package" along with other goodies like a thermos coffee cup, and a take out container of popcorn & sweets (forbidden treats during treatment) http://im...

not so much as an oopsie, but within a few hours of getting my braces on, I managed to break a bracket off (which I was later told was normal) but in the whole process I've accidentally "eaten" some elastics (not removing them before a snack) and I've swallowed a back molar bracket too. Bl...

well knowing it was the BEFORE pic made a difference lol I didn't post pics in the beginning but that was more because I'm computer challenged and just enjoyed seeing other people's pics. Also, it's just teeth. No full front face shots. Don't be nervous! Everyone on here is for support, we're all do...

I would have to guess it all depends on what your particular treatment needs in the way of finishing. I've been wearing the "finishing elastics" for the past 6+ weeks, to bring my back molars together so my bite is perfectly aligned. I wear a box config on my right back teeth and a triangl...

De-bracing in 11 days...Before and (Almost) After pics

It's been a long 2-1/2 years I won't lie. I am SO SO glad I did this journey even though it was for the second time. With the exception of upper jaw surgery this go around. Such a small investment in time for a lifetime of happy smiles I'll be proud to show off and a bite that works! Here is my bite...

-I'm in Edmonton, Alberta Canada -If I remember correctly, my braces cost between $5500-$6000 plus the upper jaw surgery was another $3000 and then retainers will be another $400 -I have clear ceramics on the upper 6 front teeth and damons on all other teeth -I was told 30 months in braces and I get...

Do you mean do they use the ceramic brackets with doors? The answer is yes. Unfortunately they brought these in after I started treatment so I still have the "old school" ceramics on top and damon brackets on the bottom. If you haven't already, check out their website, I included it in my ...

Which Edmonton? in Edmonton Alberta I can't recommend one for in the city, but a FANTASTIC one in St. Albert (just north of edm, not a big commute) is Dr. Popowich at Popowich Orthodontics. You don't need a referral, he's fantastic. He explains everything so well, personalizes everything and is easy...

That is really unfortunate that your ortho isn't communicating better with you about how your treatment is progressing/what stage you're at/what the next steps are etc. I've found that has been huge for me on this braces journey. My ortho will explain absolutely all aspects to me when I have an adju...

I will be 6 mths post op on Mar 9. I'm in the last 5 weeks of treatment before deband date. Up until 3 weeks ago, I had a very similar bite, perhaps not quite as extreme but like you, my bite wasn't like it was right after surgery, and when I bit down it didn't at all feel like it fit together right...
