Hi, yeah just over a year - v happy. I've looked at your story and it does seem you have a tooth similar to mine in that it is pushedforward by the other, it is such a great feeling to look back and see the change. Good luck with everything :)

Someone on here once posted a quote that changed my whole outlook on having braces: 'would you rather someone sees you and thinks - oh he has braces or would you rather someone sees you and thinks - oh he needs braces'. For me, it is exactly how I feel. If anything I am now the one who scrutinises e...

I love my curries and have been fine, only once did it stain them bright yellow to which I was devastated (I think I only had been to my dentist the day before for a tightening). But alas, a couple of brushes later and my powerchain was back seemingly to normal - or at least to a state that didn't l...

Oh I also had two extractions (still the worst bit of the whole process if you ask me) but he charged them to the NHS so I saved a fair bit :)

I'm in Lincolnshire and I have had full metal uppers and lowers on. Initial assessment cost me £40, with £40 on casts. £850 each brace (x2), my fixed retainer is costing £60 and a removable also £60, with the monitoring of this costing £140 total cost £2040 :) This has included any breaks I have had...

Probably hard to tell without seeing - though that said I'm no expert :P What has your dentist said? I was told it could take me 8 - 18 months and I'm at 10 months and have been told today that it will be completed by Oct time so I'll be at 14 months. I was told that I will have a finishing wire put...

I have my visit to the dentist tomorrow for what will be 2 weeks short of being 10 months on (wow how fast does time fly - I just noticed I started this thread over 6 weeks ago!) Hopefully I will be reporting the good news that my final wire goes in, but I won't pin my hopes just yet! They haven't r...

Thanks all :) I'm hoping when I go June 3rd again that my denist keeps his word and does change the final closing wire (much like many have said on here, he has been saying 'last wire in next time fo a few months now). Still, can't complain they seem to have shifted v v fast :)

Fortunately I booked the Thursday afternoon off and all day Friday leading me into a long weekend to help me get used to them. Immediately, whilst still in my dentist chair I remember thinking "OMG these are sticking out much further than I anticipated". I didn't look at them in the dentis...

Thanks everyone :)

I am amazed at the speed to be honest and so is my dentist. I have another visit to get a square wire on the top and bottom (apparently a thicker wire) to square them off and sort out the lean and then it is done :)

I wouldn't worry. My teeth shifted within hours of having a powerchain removed - different scenario I know - but after that initial movement that was that. What you have to remember is the moulds they took will be of how your teeth were so I'm sure (given it is only a couple of days) they will be fo...
