Re: bracedagain-Ken now againbrace!
Ken was a great source of info to me as well! Always fun to banter with him about the wings and penguins hockey! He went through so much with his braces, and now to hear of his passing is so sad. Thanks for sharing the info, I will definately say a prayer for him.

Just had some bonding done after debanding, haven't seen the bill yet, but the dentist will bill it to insurance first. It looks and feels great!

Re: Nervous re mandibular advancement surgery - advice?

I tried the no surgery route....ortho said if the top teeth continue to touch the lip at all, after braces they will push back ...

Re: THEY ARE OFF!!! Retainer Questions!!
Thanks tumble! I started cleaning them in the mornings also, I agree, the idea of bacteria all night is gross! They are easier to get in and out today. It will definately be easier when I don't have to wear them during the day. But for now, I take them out for an hour or so in the am, to do coffee/b...

THEY ARE OFF!!! Retainer Questions!!
Well, after 2.5years, and BSSO in Jan 2011, they are off and the retainers are on! Got debonded yesterday, and got upper and lower clear retainers (essix??) I needed to have my upper Left 2 bonded, as the tooth is a ridiculously small and weird shaped, and he was unable to close the gap with braces....

Re: Gingival Gum Graft Surgery Necessary!
Hi Lynn.. I had 3 grafts done before braces, so as not to have issues after. Apparently, I had "thin gums". I did it in 2 separate appointments. No sedation, just novacaine-----lots and lots of it! At least 20+ pricks. The graft came from the palate. To be honest, the hardest part of the r...

Re: A year since bimax - still stiff/numb?
Bullfighter..... I would say that more recently I started to feel a bit more normal inmterms of stiffness, my right side is still worse than my left...but it doesn't hurt as much when I yawn or open wide now....so that's an improvement. Very little Change if any in the numbness....only on the left s...

Re: Jaw Surgery in Canada
No, I was referred to a surgeon who my ortho worked with. It is true, however, there are few surgeons, and they get limited OR time, so there is a wait list. They didn't care that i was paying out if pocket, everyone waits! Best of luck.

Re: Jaw Surgery in Canada
I was in BC, and had private insurance, I would have had to pay out of pocket.....approx $20-25k....I was hoping to get reimbursed by my insurance. When I became surgery ready, the wait list 6+ months. After debating what to do for almost 8 weeks, my ortho and I decided I should go down to the US, S...
