I am 3 days post up, They moved my lower jaw foward.I had some bleeding for the first day and now its pretty much gone away. I think thats normal. The Ortho has to line your teeth up so when you do have your surgery the upper and lower jaw fit together.Unfortunately that means making it look worse before it can get better.What type of surgery are you having?When?Did your OS show you a digital image of what you should look...

permanent numbness
Thats my worry, permanent numbness in my lower lip. I dont know how that would work with puckering, smiling and just movemant in general.

i think you have to decide for yourself whether or not it bothers you enough to want to fix it. The orthodontist is there to tell you what would be ideal, but your the one that needs to make the final decision on it , I have read some blogs and the gummy smile is what some people like about themselv...

I heard to expect to lose 10% of your body weight. I am not sure if thats the case or not though b/c i havent had my surgery yet.Good luck tomorrow, im sure everything wil be fine.

genioplasty
i had a genioplasty done @5 yrs ago and i have decided to have it revesed and have mandibular advancement AKA BSSO instead . B/C the angle btwn my lower lip and chin is steep ( for lack of better description) and it looks witchy.

I know if differs for everyone but im having BSSO and was wondering how long it took for others to regain feeling in lower lip and chin?If you reply please let me know type of surgery, your age(b/c they say the older you are the more likely its permanent)and how long Post-OP. Thanks

Im having BSSO and i have a 3yr old. Im really concerned how he will feel when he sees me swollen, bruised and just diiferent. Anyone have a similar circumstance?

I'm having lower advancement and im curious about the numbness and swelling.How long does it last? How long until you can smile ? Not only that but what about being tightly banded and yawning,sneezing or coughing? how does that work?
