Re: Implants & bone loss?

If you don't have enough bone to support the implant, then you will need a bone graft. my surgery for bone grafting, gum grafting and implant was about 1500.00 US dollars. I ended up having 2 of the surgeries, had the conscious sedation( IV meeds) for the first one- that was an additional 600.00 tha...

Re: making progress- Not any more- implant failed

Just 1-2 weeks after my last check and implant tightening, I quickly started to lose gum tissue on the adjacent tooth, ( a capped tooth). I went to the DDS for a check and he couldn't believe the difference in tooth loss and gum loss. It's never a good sign when the DDS says " Oh Wow" I th...

Re: opera^gal's story

HI OPG I had my implant( upper front tooth) uncovered about 4 weeks ago and continued to wear my hawley with the fake teeth in it, over the implant button that was exposed. The DDS made some adjustments to it, and it fit ok- a bit loose, but not dropping out of my mouth at least. Don't know if the h...

Re: making progress

Thanx Ashesgap It was surprising how good and "real" the 2 toothed ( upper front teeth) Hawley looked. People were complimenting me on how great my teeth looked once the braces were taken off, and they never realized the Fakeness. those of us who have the toothed hawleys are very good reta...

the end is near.

Re: brace & MRI scan??

I needed to have an MRI of my neck and brain while fully braced- and it's was no problem for the patient. The readings were a bit difficult to due to reflections but that was it. No need to worry on this one.

Had implant surgery 5 days ago

For those of you who have had the first stage of implants- bone graft, and implant placed- how long did you have swelling at the site?

Also, how is the missing tooth being handled for you?

Welcome to the world of adults with Braces. I just turned 50 a few months ago. It's hard to believe, but now that you are thinking of braces, you'll be amazed at the people you'll meet who either have braces, or had them as adults. Just at my workplace there are about 20 braced adults that I know of...

I was just thinking about this

I've been changing out the bristle heads every month since it seems they wear out frequently. My ortho and DDS always give me compliments on how great my teeth look when I go in for wire changes or cleanings.
Thank goodness for large box stores!
