Wow, got mine off 9 days ago. Have been on holidays and it feels great. Sorry, I don't know how to post pics, but I am happy with the results. They look so white now that the horrible stained powerchain has been removed!!! They actually put my braces in a sealed bag for me to take home, along with m...

WOW - I wish mine was that fast after surgery. I have only 2 weeks to go til debanding and my surgery was in January. My ortho says that I am lucky that I am getting them off early than expected because they originally estimated a total of at least 2 years in braces.

Bring on the next two weeks!!!

End is near, feeling really down - Am over elastics

So after being in braces for not yet two years and being 9months post op - I am just about over it. I had hopefully my last adjustment today and my Ortho has put me in 2 really tight elastics next to my front four teeth. She even had to wire up hooks top and bottom especially. It is almost l...

One of my surgeons assistants watched my surgery and talked about it excitedly to me when I next saw her. Made me feel very secure with my choice of surgeons and positive about my recovery because my surgery went so well. Definately not something I could witness and once I was told the basics about ...

I guess unless you have studied orthodontics it is very hard to self diagnose oneself and I know for a fact that when I went for my appointment it turned up some nasty surprises. Having said that, I have most certainly seen people with only one arch braced and sometimes only the front 6 teeth. You n...

Hi Catherine and welcome. You have made the hardest step and that is getting started. You are well on your way now and it will be over in no time and the results will be amazing. I am 34 and am only a few months off finishing my treatment. I was braced as a young teenager, but due to my weak chin my...

Get a second opinion. My story - had braces when I was 13 for a year. Ready for debanding and then they decide that they want to pull some teeth (can't remember which ones) and leave me in braces for another 2 years. I say no way. Fast forward 20 years. Teeth have shifted and I want them straight ag...

Only if there is excessive bleeding. Sometimes they will get you to donate your own blood prior to surgery just in case.

So, had another adjustment today. Still no idea how much longer. My ortho just said that it would be 9 - 12 months after surgery for debanding. She says that things are going at a good rate - so I am aiming for the '9' month which would be at the earliest October :( I had two very tight elastics on ...

Thought I would drag this up again to see where everyone is at as I have seen some of the January Buddies getting their braces off.

I am going to ask my ortho on Monday, but am sure that I will have a few more months yet.

Whats happening with everyone else?

Oh Emma bummer on the non-debanding  I was a January buddy with you!! I still have my braces and am not even sure when they will be coming off. I do have an adjustment next monday, so hopefully get some kind of idea then. My bottom teeth are very sensitive after my surgery. I am wearing one ver...
