Re: A Wider Nose?

my nose become wider and my nostrils more flared as well. i had my surgery about 2 years ago so i'm pretty sure everything has settled. i would really like to find out about this possible revision of alar stitching post-surgery, because i remember my surgeon mentioning it to me.

Re: Midline -upper and lower- are off after surgery

i had the exact same problem (among other things..). both my midlines were aligned, BUT they were both shifted to the right by a noticeable amount. i told my orthodontist about it, and he said the only way to fix it was to remove a tooth on the top and bottom on the left side, in order to make room ...

Re: Use of Neti-Pot post-surgery

i don't know if it's too late to reply to this... but anyway! i'm having the same issue... or close to it, at least. i just started using a neti pot (i had used it a few times before my surgery as well) and i notice it feels different now after upper jaw surgery. when i go through my left nostril i ...

i can attest to this. my nose widened noticeably after my surgery, and it's not just me being neurotic; my family notices it as well. i am over 6 months post op. i still have some minor swelling in my upper cheeks and i don't know if that is contributing to it. my nostrils are a good amount wider no...

i, too, was/am underweight and i probably lost about max 8 lbs after surgery (i'm 5'7" and about 108lbs or so). i lose weight very easily so i was worried that i was going to shrivel into nothing.. but i didn't do too badly. just do your best to keep eating meals (er, drinking meals) throughout...

i can only open 2 fingers wide as well. i am around 6 months post op. i probably haven't been exercising the muscles as much as i should, because my right joint especially hurts when i open wide. i mentioned it to my surgeon and he said that there is a procedure (i forget what it's called!) that the...

1. I was not wired shut 2. Liquid diet for 6 weeks 3. I actually didn't end up taking any pain medication after my surgery. It wasn't so much pain, it just felt weird, and lots of pressure. Though I did get pretty intense joint pain for awhile whenever I lied down, but I toughed it out. 4. I think i...

everything looks amazing!!! you must be excited to see the final result of all the agony haha! :D i do have a question for you though (or anyone else who might know). i noticed at the beginning of your treatment your midline was off. my midlines were fine pre-braces/pre-op, but since i had my surger...

i wish i had an answer to your question because i am wondering the same thing myself! i had upper and lower about 6 months ago as well and my nose is significantly wider, specifically the tip of my nose. my nostrils are definitely wider. i notice that my nose is extra wide now when i smile, and the ...

my midlines were off immediately after surgery by roughly 3mm. my upper and lower teeth themselves were perfectly aligned.... but they weren't aligned to the middle of my face - it was shifted to the right by 3mm. so i need to get teeth pulled to make my midline centered :( so to anyone who has midl...

i am just over 3 months and my lips still do not close naturally at all, though my lips are naturally closer together than they were pre-surgery. my chin still looks all pucker-y when i try to close my lips. then again, even at 3 months, things are still stiff and numb, plus you have muscle memory. ...

apparently for most people a big hunk of swelling goes down with 2-3 weeks. for a others (and naturally me!) it doesn't. i was still really noticeably swollen at 1 and 2 months. i'm over 3 months now and i still have swelling in my cheeks and nose - though i suppose if you didn't see me before you w...
