Cheek implants

I´ve had surgery, Lefort 1, lower, and sliding genio. I´ve always had a narrow face, which has been more narrow due to extractions pre surgery. I feel my genio (which all in all was a good thing, improved my profile), has made my face even more narrow. I also weigh about 20 punds less than I did bef...

Re: MAY 2011 BUDDIES!!!!

Hi all! It's been 3 weeks since my second surgery (I had lefort 1 the 16th of May, but they had to perform a sagital split as well, which they did the 20th. of May) I'm not in pain, but each morning i feel a bit uncomfortable, perhaps I'm clenching my jaw during the night. As for swelling, I am not ...

Re: MAY 2011 BUDDIES!!!!

Re: MAY 2011 BUDDIES!!!!

Hi guys! Just wanted to report from the other side! I was operated on monday. They woke me up and told me that it didn't turn out exactly as they had planned, and that I would have to operate the lower jaw as well. I'm pretty sure that was the lowest moment in my life. I just cried for three days st...

Re: MAY 2011 BUDDIES!!!!

Hi buddies! Seems that you're doing fine! I had a meeting with a surgeon and a professor today (not the surgeon who's doing my surgery, I'll meet him on friday). I took a lot of pictures, x-rays and other measurements, and they discussed my surgery details. I will be having lefort 1. Impact 5 mm &qu...

Re: Maxilla advice

Thank you! I'm really looking forward to having this surgery done!=)

My answer is no to both questions. My problems are mainly that I show A LOT of teeth when I speak, gums when I laugh and strain when closing my mouth.

Have you discussed your case with an ortho/OS?

Best of luck! =)

Re: Maxilla advice

I will be having lefort 1 surgery the 16th, of may. My ortho and OS have said that the lower jaw rotates a bit forward as the upper jaw is lifted, so I they might have to move it a little bit forward as well.

Re: My story, initial situation, with pics.

Today it's 7 weeks until my surgery. I feel calm now, but I'm sure I'll get really nervous as it comes closer, just curious when I'll start to get anxious. One week ahead surgery? One month? Time will tell :D . I'm REALLY looking forward to it though.

So long =)
