Orthodontist time frame

I've had my uppers on since March and my lowers on since May. Everything seems to be moving quickly in my mouth. I've been taken off of the bite plate as of my adjustment yesterday and a power chain on the uppers added. Is the Orthodontist original predictions of treatment time a higher number than ...

Okay, I'm falling behind on replying. So sorry! :) I went for the lower banding this morning, with a coil placed between two of my uppers where there is a gap. The spacer that I had placed last Thursday never bothered me once. I never noticed it being there. They also tightened my uppers today and O...

Spacer tomorrow

Well it has been a good month and a bit with the upper braces, now in the morning I go for one spacer to be placed between the lower back two molars. Then on Monday the 27th I go back to the Ortho for the bottom braces and bite plate. It's a lot within the next few days. I hope the rest go as well a...

I use M I paste. My regular dentist office 'gave' me a tube for using before braces and during. It was $21 for that tube, but guess that's not so bad considering that she told me to use a pea size amount before bed and not to rinse. That should last for quite some time. I don't think it has done any...

When I had my uppers placed on the 3rd of March, they were much more friendly to me than they were on the consult. We found out that insurance won't cover 'adult' braces but will 'child' braces. This will be paid out of pocket and if I have once grouchiness out of them, I will mention it to the Orth...

I'm 35 years old and no one has teased me but my oldest 14 year old son. He was laughing that I wouldn't be able to eat certain foods.

I just got braces on my top the 3rd of March. I have a numb feeling but have never once had any pain or discomfort. I feel a bit of pressure and numbness on the front four teeth as well but that's it. I've not had to take any Tylenol or Advil at all. The only thing that has been somewhat irritating ...

Thank you all so very much! I've been expecting pain by now and nothing. I have no discomfort or pain whatsoever. I took ibuprofen right before going for my placement yesterday and haven't taken anything else. I really only feel a bit of pressure but that's about it. I'm also starting to get the can...

I'm now back from my placement!!!!

It was a smooth placement for me today. They only placed my top brackets today and will put a spacer on my visit in 7 weeks between two of my lower right molars. The last visit after that will be the week after and they'll place my lower brackets, bite plate and elastics.

Yes, they did the pano x rays when I went to the consult. I had it in my mind that I'd be stuck at the Ortho for hours and hours. I guess it depends on how organised they are in there. They really didn't tell me a whole lot at all on my consult. The Orthodontist only spoke of being from the Bahamas ...

Newbie questions before placement tomorrow

When I went to the Ortho consult a few weeks ago, they didn't take the teeth molds. How long does this take and would that affect me getting my placement tomorrow? The girl in the financial department said that since I had been there so long that day, it could be done when I come back. Is this commo...

That is one thing that I don't like about our insurance is that there are only a few, in my case one, ortho for my area. I feel like a number instead of a person in there because they're so busy. I rather have gone to another ortho that wasn't in network, but it's so much cheaper and had to go this ...
