Just struck me... looks like Inman has at least stopped me from my old habit of chewing my lips to pieces!

Finally sifted out some pics for the curious (wish others would post some more, too!) and sorry about the quality and angles, it's tough to get a good match. The first set is from before starting with Inman, the second is 9 weeks into treatment. Not sure if it's a noticeable difference, feels like t...

P.S. I've lost about a stone since I started with Inman. It doesn't half curtail your snacking!

Just an update for anyone interested - I've had the Inman on for just over 10 weeks now, and the dentist called a halt to the key-turns on the expander part of it after about 6 weeks. I went for a routine check-up earlier this week and the dentist seemed to think I was pretty much finished treatment...

Hi Anne, I'm in Belfast. I've been wearing an Inman for two weeks now. Like you, I was positively spooked by the idea of the IPR filing. I said to my dentist 'I'd rather have crooked healthy teeth than straight unhealthy ones' but he assured me there's no evidence that taking a bit off the enamel ha...

Hi Vicky! If you're interested in finding out before a personal consultation whether you may be suitable for Inman, then you could go to the forums on the Inman Aligner site and post a pic for the dentists there to look at. If you'd prefer to email, Tif Qureshi is an expert in the field and he poste...

Straight teeth for summer is a happy thought, Sherral! My dentist is checking up on me weekly, so I went along for my first week appointment and he did more filing! Hurt a bit because my teeth were tender and he also used a machine to do the filing - the smell of burnt tooth and little stream of too...

Oh, I feel your pain, I really do. I'm wearing an Inman Aligner, which my dentist attached an expander to, and I've had it on now for 9 days. The first week or so was rather awful. Like you, I felt like Hannibal Lecter, constantly having to stop and slurp up my own saliva. Speech was virtually impos...

Sounds like you've been through a rough time, you must be terribly brave to have all that treatment. I tip my hat to you - I just had to have a bit of filing and I'm wearing a removable aligner and I'm still a wuss about it, so I really do admire your courage! And you can really see the results alre...

Hi Sherral! Sounds like you're nearing the finishing post... and that the results have been worth the aggravation! =) I can feel it working, and maybe it's just the power of psychological suggestion or something silly like that, but when I took it off to have dinner tonight I did see some movement. ...

Hi Jess... I think we're in the same-ish boat. I just got mine yesterday, and he's fitted a little something to it (expander?) that covers the roof of my mouth. I'm dealing with the pain which is mostly just when I take it out and put it back in (ouch!) and I think I'm lucky it's just my two front t...

By the way, I asked about expansion (I have a narrow top arch) and he kind of brushed that option aside, said that expansion rarely lasts as the teeth relapse or some such.

Hmm.

Hi Willy... not an expert, and I think you probably need an expert opinion, but when I was a teen I was told if I wanted a brace I'd need 4 extractions. So I didn't get it done. I'm now 27 and having the inman aligner fitted soon, and my dentist made a point of telling me that while extraction was a...

Jules and Buzz, thank you so much for the kind words. =) Well, I entered the surgery with my knees knocking and was taken aside by a very lovely treatment coordinator/nurse who basically held my hand and talked it all over with me. Then into the treatment room... all a bit of a blur, but I managed t...
