I like Beyonce's smile. I also think part of it is that she has a really nicely shaped mouth to go along with great teeth. Gee, I really think I've begun to overanalyze people's smiles.... In other news, I heard Katie Holmes got braces. I have yet to see a good picture of her, can anyone confirm or ...

I have now found my job to be the source of my TMJ as well :D . I work at a computer all day and it only aggravates my TMJ. Not to mention in times of stress, it is so much worse. So, my solution was not braces, but to quit my job! Um, anyway...Only my front right tooth is touching any of the lower ...

I am in a similar situation as you. I have been suffering from TMJ problems and my Ortho suggested treating it with braces and nothing else. He seemed certain that my pain would be relieved by fixing my bite, and never suggested an appliance beforehand. I have a class III occlusion (underbite) with ...

Hi and Welcome! I was just braced exactly one week ago. I'm not gonna lie, many times I had thought I made a mistake as well. But I can tell you that the past two days the pain has been much better. I was in a LOT of pain the first 5 days. I say use as much wax as you need at first, but others might...

In reviewing my notes, they say that the splint is made of reinforced plastic that is tooth colored. (perhaps laymens terms for what you were referring to) and is cemented to the back of the teeth. The notes also say that the splint MAY possibly be removed in 3-4 yrs after greater stability is reach...

Bonded retainer/splint

Has anyone on this board had one or do the docs have an opinion on these? My ortho wants to put bonded splint (not the metal bar, but of another material I'm not sure of) behind both my upper and lower front teeth. He said that i am a likely candidate for relapse and even retainers might not do a go...

Thank you for the kind words of support. I was braced with ceramic uppers and lowers, the Dr. did not bracket my two lower molar baby teeth because their roots are the shortest and we’re going to save them for as long as possible. He did some interproximal reduction (sp?), shaving between the teet...

Kateps getting braced today!

I wanted to share my story, because for months now I have been reading all of yours. It is sort of therapeutic as I don’t know anyone in adult orthodontics to commiserate with. Like many people on this board, I have always hated my teeth and regretted not having taken care of them with orthodontic...

Thank you Dr. Randall for replying so fast. No, permanent teeth did not develop. Easthetically, implants are definitely the way to go and I think the canine implants will have a positive impact on my facial feature as it is a little sunken there b/c i have baby canines. I don't think any baby teeth ...

Thank you for sharing your story, it is nice to hear that other people are in the same boat. I actually do not have permanent canines, so the option to pull them down is not there. They could keep the baby canines for a little while, the are not in bad shape and some bonding could build them up so t...

Implant or not to Implant?

Question for the Dr.-I have 5 baby teeth currently in my mouth, where perm. teeth never grew in. I am 27 y/o female. I am going to go through an orthodontic treatment and it has been suggested to me that I may need to get implants for some of my baby teeth at the end of this process. I saw a prostho...
