Wolford or Gunson/Arnett?

I'm curious, Ryan...how did you narrow it down to these three doctors? I think there needs to be a good working relationship between your surgeon and the ortho, so has the ortho weighed in on the choices? I had my surgery done at Baylor (where Wolford is affiliated) over a decade ago with a surgeon ...

It took a couple of years for my gums/palate to regain their full sensitivity. Now my gums are my barometer--I can always tell when the weather is going to shift because my gums start feeling sore and itchy. Other wise they're fine.

Patience is key. I had my surgery over a decade ago, but looking back at pictures of myself taken in the year after the surgery, I now see that it really took about a year for my "new" face to emerge. You will grow increasingly happier with the results, I assure you. My advice is to resist...

Thanks for responding to my post. You're right that the orthodic helps. The muscle tightness doesn't completely disappear, but I can go weeks or even months without noticing it. This is my theory (bear with me): when my jaw bones were cut and rearranged, the extra facial tissue/muscles had a hard ti...

re: what if....?

You might try journaling or counseling to determine if this is really for you. If you decide to go through with it, take it one day at a time, scm007. There's no sense worrying about the future and the 'what if's". I know that this is often easier said than done. Even now, many years after my s...

Thanks for responding. When I see my "before and after" pictures, I am amazed at the work my OS did. Nine hours of surgery! Many things could have gone wrong and didn't, so I'm grateful.

Still...I wish the right side of my face felt as perfect as my left.....sigh.

anyone have muscle tightness on one side of the face?

Hi. I had surgery many years ago (upper and lower jaw) with cheek implants for cosmetic 'balancing'. I am very happy with my physical appearance, but I am wondering if anyone has had this happen: 1) after the surgery, the facial muscles on the right side of my face were tighter than the left side. M...
