Oh yes! I've walked out of the orthodontist's office once after getting a powerchain and seeing a gap close. That was the great part. The day after was the part I didn't like...the pain was intense, but it was temporary. Powerchains are no joke!

I had a little bleeding too, but after I left the ortho's office, I don't recall it happening again. I have clear retainers, upper and lower, as well as a fixed lower retainer. I alternate every 12 hours, and the prognosis is basically until told otherwise. I go back for a checkup in July and may be...

Congrats on getting debraced! When I was debraced last month, I noticed a little sensitivity on my top teeth from where they scraped the bracket glue off. Just yesterday, I noticed the sensitivity is gone, so I guess it was temporary. I wear clear retainers, upper and lower. I alternate every 12 hou...

Congratulations, that is great news!! I'm sure you are thrilled! When you say "temporary night guard thingees", can you clarify what they were? :D I am a terrible nighttime grinder. I am currently using a Splintek guard, but have already ripped one of the bite pads practically in half - a...

I only had to wear mine 24/7 for 3 days. Now I switch each side every 12 hours and I'm supposed to do that for the first 9 months. My bottom retainer fits fine--I have a permanent retainer under my front 6 bottoms--but I also noticed that everything seems tight after I put my top retainer back on. M...

Very nice. I am wondering if your ortho did any kind of bonding or some type of teeth reshaping procedure because the shape of all your teeth look very nice and I am hoping my teeth look like that after braces. Problem is the shape of my teeth isn't so great because of being worn down and chipped a...

I was estimated for 18-24 months, then downgraded to 18 and was finally debraced just short of 17 months. I have to reward my teeth for being good to me, lol 8)

Newly debraced and fully retained

Hey all, I didn't realize this part of the forum existed until about a month ago. I was just debraced this morning after nearly 1 year and 5 months of treatment. I was fortunate in that I never had elastics and my teeth moved very fast. I was being treated for an overbite and to help me to stop grin...

Congratulations! I'd like to know how you like your permanent retainer now and down the road. I'll be getting one and I think I'll like it over any other option. I've heard pros & cons. The flossing won't bother me, but if anything else quirky comes up, please post. Thank you! I'd be glad to no...

Congratulations! Your journey begins the same day mine ends. Be sure to take some Advil if you start to feel sore. The soreness factor differs for everyone, but most everyone starts to feel that soreness hours after getting braced. Your teeth will feel funny for a few days and it may feel like anyth...

I was initially estimated to get my braces taken off after 18-24 months. Then it turned to 18, but I got them taken off just short of 17. Life is good :)

And they're off!

After a relatively short stint in braces, I finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel today...and my teeth look great! To those of you who are frustrated with the change of lifestyle and not being able to eat certain foods and stuff, know that it's temporary, and your teeth will turn out to...

It sounds to me like you know what's best. You paid 6 grand and you want the maximum benefit from the purchase. Even if the changes aren't noticeable to others, you'll probably feel it in your bite and smile. And your wedding is in 10 months...you will have been out of braces for 4 months. I say go ...
