Re: Periodontal disease and braces

I would get the periodontal disease sorted out first and with regular cleanings thereafter. I went thru the same thing, you can read about my story here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=37452

Re: Anyone denied braces due to bad perio?

Hey Dangerdude, I know it's been a couple of years since this thread started, but I'd love to hear the eventual outcome. It seems I'm in almost exactly the same position as you are. Right at the beginning of a load of treatment after many years of neglect. It's a bit daunting to be honest and I'm n...

Re: For those that use(d) FSA

With my company, 3k used to be the limit for singles. It looks like I can do 5k now. I had set aside 3k but I should have done the full 5k. I only went to the ortho/periodontist consultation after the enrollment period. I'll need about 7k worth of work. Enrolling also lowers your tax bracket right? ...

Re: Waterpick

Are you still using regular floss wires? A waterpik is not a replacement for flossing. It mainly gets food out and it does a great job at it. I use a waterpik + regular floss.

Re: Depression due to crooked teeth

Well, I have social anxiety due to mine so you're not alone. But I know it will get better after I start the treatment  I never go anywhere with friends or attend family functions. I used to be depressed but I recently pulled myself together where I'm not sad nor happy. Just content. I was badl...

I've been trying to make an effort to breathe through my nose since this thread started

Our jaws might not like being in the opened position all the time. I'm going back to my doctor to see about getting a different nasal spray that will work better.

If you can attach a hose to your faucet, go with that type. My waterpik gets all gunky and water sits around it.

Or maybe I should clean my bathroom more often

Mouth breather here also. Didn't know it was so bad. My nose is always stuffy. Probably have mold or something in my place :(

I wish I could get an oxygen tube setup like in hospitals so I could sleep better at night

For $300 I'd go for it but $750-900 is really really pushing it. You can buy an iPhone + iPad for that amount instead. They even offered me clear tops alone at $450  I can afford the extra amount for the ceramics but I wont do it now. I'm not buying the line that ceramics are more difficult to...

I had my mind set on clear whatever the cost. Then I found out only the front 8 or so gets the clears while the rest were metal. $900 extra? Thats what I was quoted. $56 or so extra for each bracket. With these numbers, something doesn't sound right. I'm going to have to call the orthos out on this ...

There was someone on here with a gap on their two front teeth. The ortho used a retainer instead of braces.

Periodontal Club

I know I'm not alone here :D I'm seeking folks with perio probs as I inch my way closer to getting braces. How deep were your pockets when you got braces? Get any bad triangles due to rum recession? Did the ortho have to do anything special or more the teeth more slowly? Are your teeth wiggly while ...

You could always sue him in small claims court.

But didn't the ortho already do his job? He made your teeth straight? I think that's how a judge would decide.
