Davide-

I'm sorry. I haven't actually logged on here in almost 2 years.

Did you figure out about why your top teeth weren't showing? Mine was caused by sucking a pacifer/thumb for YEARS as a child.

I'm 1 year and 7 months post op.. seems like a dream!!!

Let me know if you need anything!

Everyone needs to vent sometime. I'm not really liking my results so far. I'll be 3 weeks post-op Monday, and even though I'm not really swollen anymore, my results do not look that different than before surgery. It seems so many people have such good after stories, but I don't think I'm going to be...

Welcome to the other side! Yes, I had nose bleeds the first and second day after. It's normal. **Sending healing thoughts your way!**

You look beautiful, girl! I think you had a nice smile before, too. But, I know it's truly what you think about yourself. Your swelling looks great! I hope it continues for you. :D

For those of you who are "healed"...

I never thought I would miss food so much! I have learned after this surgery, that I could never be anorexic..LOL. I think about food all the time. Big juicy hamburgers and chili-dogs. I saw my OS yesterday, everything is great, he's very pleased and I get my stitches out next Monday (the 27th). He ...

I'm 15 days post-op today and I still have swelling on my right side. The numbness gets me more than anything..it's SO aggravating! I notice after I talk or laugh for a bit, I notice the swelling coming and going. It's just one of those humps you have to just roll over, I'm learning.

Hi Descantus! Your story is VERY smiliar to mine. I was told at the age of 12, that I needed jaw surgery. My mom immediantly said NO, let's try the braces/appliances. Of course, after braces for 2 years, there was some improvement, but not what I really wanted/needed. At the age of 20, I decided tha...

I'm not really sure about it. I know there are some cases in Orthgnathic surgery where they have to re-do some if the bone goes back into place, etc.

THANK YOU ALL! I really appreciate the advice. Unless I notice anything else, I'm just going to wait until my Monday appt. I go back to resume Orthodontic care on November 9th, as long as the OS gives the OK. I do have a question.. I am still having numbness in my lower lip and my chin is just compl...

You defintley have to do what's best for you! I just had Orthognathic surgery last Monday. I tried braces before when I was 13-15, but did not get the results I really wanted. I too wanted more visible teeth (top). Before my OS would do the Ortho surgery, I had to have my wisdom teeth out. I had nev...

I also wanted to point out that the OS took out my splint about 3 days after surgery..and like I mentioned, no bands. I'm not sure what's going on with that.

New girl here...8 days Post-Op today.

Hi all. I came across your website about 3 weeks ago, amd I just want to say it was very helpful in easing my mind about my Orthognathic surgery. I had my surgery on October 6th, upper and lower with bone graft. The reason for my surgery was that when I would smile, the tips of my top teeth would sh...
