Spacing Issues (Too Much Space) Veneers/Bonding

I have posted anything in a long time, but....I'm getting my braces off April 12!!! They started sectioning at my last appointment this past Tuesday and I'm now wearing the "W" elastic configuration i.e. the one that feels like your mouth has been sealed shut! ha ha! Anyways... I told my o...

I was already wearing powerchains on top and bottom when I got my first elastics. I only have to wear them at night, but MAN! that first night with the elastics on was horrible! I felt like my teeth were throbbing and ended up taking them off in the middle of the night that night because I just coul...

I wouldn't worry about the pain. When I got my braces, I went running two days later and the running did seem to take my mind off any pain. Initially, I was actually more concerned about how I was going to fuel myself on trail runs because I wasn't sure if cliff shots would mess up my braces (it doe...

Why do Elastics have animals/animal names on the bags?

Why do Elastics have animals/animal names on the bags? I started wearing elastics tonight, but have wondered about this ever since I saw my friends' bags of elastics in high school. I'm just curious if there's anything to it. :)

UPDATE: I went to my 2nd adjustment today and the doc decided to try a molar band, so they put some spacers in place. He told me that he gives crowns one chance and if they fall off a second time goes to molar bands. So far, "Molar Band Way" ;) doesn't seem to be as sore of a process as th...

Thanks for sharing. This is nice to hear! I hope this issue gets fixed at my next adjustment.

Anyway, I had no problems whatsoever with the molar bands (I was braced for 15 or so months), and I would recommend them to anyone. The only "downside" was that when they were removed, there was some extra space around those molars where food got stuck. Other than that they were great. Ho...

I know my ortho applied a special conditioner to the crowns prior to bonding the brackets to them - is it your ortho who bonds the brackets, or a tech? My ortho has done everything related to my brackets (even breaking them  )....if a tech's been applying the brackets, you might want to talk ...

Dealing with brackets that will not stay attached to crowns

I have one crown, an upper molar (the second one from the end). The bracket that attaches to the crown has broken loose again. The first time it happened, I thought that it might have come loose as a result of me eating chips and salsa, as that is when I noticed it was loose. (Those were the last ch...

The technician put my braces on way faster than I thought it would take, so when she said, "Your top braces are on," my first reaction was, "Oh...my...gosh!!!" It took a couple of days before it sunk in that I was finally doing this and that it would be 18 months before they came...

My whole mouth has ceramic brackets (i.e. upper and lower) and the total treatment cost was $5700 versus $5300 had I gone with a full mouth of traditional braces.

I think it just depends on what they do to you at your first adjustment that determines whether you'll be super sore or not. I kept reading all the posts on here about how people's first adjustment was almost as bad as initially getting braced and how they were super sore afterwards that, when it ca...

I believe it's supposed to close gaps, but feel free to correct me. (I've only been braced for a month and a week.) :D
