I had lower jaw only about a year ago. It's still a little bit numb, but I think it will go away. Even if it doesn't go away, I'm still happy with the result.

I chose lower only. My case might be different than yours, but I'm glad I only had lower jaw done. Recovery is a lot better.

Lower only. Good result

I had my lower jaw surgery less than a year ago. I still have a little numb on my lower jaw, but I am happy with the result. Perhaps the numbness will go away in a couple months.

Missed my 2 1/2 months post-op appointment

I missed my last appointment with my surgeon. Is it a big deal? I'd called to schedule another appointment in three weeks. If you have had a 11 weeks post-op appointment, please let me know what your surgeon has told you? Thanks! It's hard to reach my surgeon. Last time at 7 weeks post-op, he told m...

My first orthodontist appointment post surgery

My orthodontist made me wear my rubber bands 24/7 to avoid muscle retraction while my surgeon let me wear them at night only. They tighten me hard; I felt that maybe I should have waited another week before my first ortho appt. I am currently 7 week post-op. My teeth hurt now. I was so happy when my...

I wonder how long until I can speak clearly post-op? With the numbness, I feel like I need to practice on speaking clearly. I had mandibular osteology. It was probably BSSO. I had lower jaw surgery and genioplasty. I had feeling on my lower lip and chin right after surgery, but the numbness only imp...

Thanks for replying. I am almost 7 weeks post-op. My surgeon said the numbness will be there from 2 to 6 months. I don't see much improvement yet. I read somewhere in here that some vitamin can help with nerve regeneration. Do you know which vitamin that is?

I had genioplasty. How long does it take for the numbness on my chin to go away?
