What a great question! I was pleased that my clear brackets weren't too bulky, but disappointed that they didn't do clear all the way around - on just the front six. Nobody had mentioned to me that it wouldn't be all of them. Now, two months in, I'm very pleased and find them to be nice and subtle l...

I've had a trainee-ortho working on my teeth the last couple of times. She broke a bracket trying to open it so it had to be sanded, new bracket bonded etc by my ortho. Aside from the discomfort, it took and hour for the appointment. I understand people have to learn, but it shouldn't be at the exp...

Hi Radkitty, and welcome! I'm finding that there's not much I can do about getting stuff stuck in the braces when eating. All I can do is excuse myself to the bathroom and get that food the heck out of there before enjoying a long and interesting conversation where I smile and laugh with my dinner c...

Wow, it looks like you've had a lot of movement. Great progress! I had a similar experience with wire ties. After a few weeks in braces, my ortho put wire ties on a couple of my teeth. The technician said, "I can engage these teeth more." I think it's because the wire ties are not flexible...

For me, I noticed my teeth feeling different before seeing any changes. Looking in the mirror, I couldn't see much difference but my tongue could definitely feel the difference! That was about a week after being braced. The visual came a couple of weeks later. But we're all so different! Let us know...

I'd have to agree with Meryaten, especially her advice that you get another opinion. If you see two doctors - one who's just fine and one who's got crazy ideas - it's going to skew your idea of what's available, and what's reasonable. One more doc can give you a more well-rounded idea of what you're...

It doesn't look so bad in the pic. Probably nobody will notice; I wouldn't have unless I knew what to look for.

But it is important for us to feel good about our braces, and if it's an issue for you, then it should be an issue your orthodontist takes seriously!

I don't suppose you have a picture?
Could it be that you've just got some surface staining due to cleaning being more difficult?

Great progress, Ugh! I think your teeth look nice. One interesting thing that I didn't expect was that my wire had some bend up and down. And it has actually pulled two of my teeth down out of my gums a bit, leveling them with my other teeth. Is there a possibility that your two front teeth are goin...

I'm still eating popcorn. Well, actually Smartfood, which I cannot resist! Learned my lesson the hard way with caramels. They were dipped in chocolate. How could I say no? It was harder and stickier than I had expected, and I was already having a sore-teeth day. It wrapped around my braces, the choc...

I'm happy to say...I no longer have pain. My first adjustment is on the 29th... I'm happy to hear that your pain has subsided! Phew! It may give you comfort to know that some of us (me included) had no pain at our first adjustments. So just because it's a first adjustment doesn't mean there...
