Re: How Do Bite Turbos Work? Are My Bite Turbos / Elastics Necessary?
The way your incisors meet in the second photo looks fine to me. It may well be the case that you will need elastics on your molars and premolars for that to become your normal bite without the turbos. I think you can trust your ortho. Your teeth look great, by the way. Good luck with the rest of yo...

Re: One month to go
i have bonded plus hawley. I only wear the latter at night so no problem re it being conspicuous. I also have essix, but I find the hawley more comfortable. The hawley is also very durable. I have had my current one for over 4 years. I would not expect an essix to last that long if worn regularly.

Re: Drinking coffee with Damon clear
I had Damon Clear for 18 months and drank coffee every day without immediately brushing and without ever having any staining.
The only staining I ever had was to a clear powerchain which I had for a few weeks.
Good luck with your treatment

Re: Lateral going out
It looks from your bottom photo as if all your top teeth were tilted inwards. This lateral now appears to be about where it should be and has perhaps reached its correct position earlier than your incisors. I suspect this is all detailing work which your ortho will be sorting out in the coming month...

I do the same as Assertives. My ortho advised to use retainerbrite only once per week.

Re: Essix vs Hawley
I think essix retainers will stain if you keep them in for drinking tea or coffee. I have both bonded, essix and hawley retainers . I paid extra for the hawley as I wanted a more durable retainer for the long term. My ortho told me to wear the removable retainer for 12 hours per day initially. She d...

Re: Advice needed (Rapid Palate Expander)
Turning once per day sounds excessive to me. I suggest you ask your ortho to review.

Re: Relapse
Thank you Dan! I will be seeing my general dentist again in July which will be 4 months from starting wearing the Essix again close to full time. I will ask his advice then. My lovely ortho left her practice in the hands of a new ortho who has since left. I saw another of the team there for a new Ha...

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues
That looks like good progress! It took me over a year to get a wonky lateral incisor into place. I see you started of with coloured ligatures. I didn't think ligatures were necessary for damon braces . Did you get them just or fun? What is the purpose of the lingual arch? Good luck with your treatme...

Re: I bite down on my retainer :(
If your lower teeth hit your upper bonded retainer, I can't see it lasting very long. If that proves to be the case after you have finished 24/7 wear of your essix, I would suggest you book an appointment with your ortho to re-fit the bonded retainer a little higher up if possible. Not everyone can ...

Relapse
So I thought I was doing everything possible to avoid relapse. I only had braces on my upper teeth but wore them for 18 months, finishing nearly 6 years ago. I was fitted with a bonded retainer on my front 6 teeth plus a removable essix to wear at night as part of my treatment plan. I also paid extr...

Re: 5 Years on
So I have been wearing the essix pretty much all day for the last two weeks and the errant tooth is back in place and putting the essix in does not hurt if the essix has only been out briefly. But it is a struggle to remember to put it back in after eating and I have had a couple of inadvertant brea...

Re: 5 Years on
Thank you Sink I have started wearing the essix 24/7 and will wear it for work this coming week. My right lateral hurt for a couple of minutes when I put the essix in last night but has been fine since ( albeit slightly hurting very briefly after the essix has been out to eat). I will wear the essix...
