Clear Ligatures

No, I do not think that mouth rinse stained the ligatures....or the clear braces for that matter (I have both).

I had my braces on for 3 weeks and went back to the ortho to have elastics put on and they said I had quite a bit of movement! I was really excited. I am seeing changes already from just that most recent adjustment. I did not have teeth pulled and the ortho is using a zip file to make some room betw...

Elastics go on this Thursday....the 3 weeks without elastics has been a breeze and now I wonder what I have gotten myself into ;-). Obviously there hasn't been any movement (that I can tell anyway) so I am not sure the purpose of the three weeks with just the brackets on .... from what everyone has ...

Yeah for IPR....I won't be having any extractions either but using the IPR where they shave off the enamal. Good to hear that it is working for you. It's nice to know that it works. My front two teeth are pretty large teeth and I know the dentist will be taking some enamal off those two to make room...

Treatment Plans...do all orthos provide a copy to you?

I am just curious after reading some threads that people have "treatment plans". I have not seen one nor have I heard my ortho refer to one. Should I ask for this...

I have no idea what to expect from one appt. to the next. I am only 3 weeks into braces ... am I rushing the process?

Hi Wired Skull! I noticed that you have ceramics on tops and bottoms....in the time that you have had braces on, did you have any staining of the ceramics? I am really paranoid about staining them...I drink one to two cups of coffee a day and have maybe a glass of iced tea every other...lots of wat...

I bought a cordless waterpik and hated it at first. But now, I have learned how to use it and love it. The water drains fast but I am down to only refilling it once which I have to do in the kitchen sink because the unit is too big for my bathroom sink. That is probably my one gripe.

I was at a family reunion and tried to hide them but I am a smiley kind of person so I got caught in the end since I couldn't stop smiling. My family and even co-workers said "good for you". Others have said "I will be glad in the long run" and my good friend said I am her inspir...

In regards to my lips sticking out, no one except my brother, who is in his 50s and still likes to tease me, made fun of protruding lips. So, I guess I am just a little self-conscious. My smile is definitely different though--I haven't got that down yet...should my upper lip be above the brackets wh...

I have been braced for two weeks with ceramic on tops and bottoms. After seeing my cousin's metal braces, I realized that the ceramics are chunkier than the metal...my lips stick out further. At times I wished I would have just gone with metal on top and bottom because I am so fearful of them staini...

Re: Also going on 40 and probably getting IPR

Hi and congratulations on your braces journey too! Eating is the pits. I have already popped off a wire from it's bracket when I tried a piece of my daughters real coconut from the shell! Yes, they will be filing down my front teeth as well as a few others to make room. I refused to have any extract...

You will be fine. They should affect your speech only slightly but you should be able to compensate for it. Mostly S's. I know that I am a lot more 'saliva-y' which probably affects my speech the most rather than the braces. Congratulations on going through with the procedure. Mine have been on for ...
