I use Efferdent every morning for about 20-30 minutes. Usually don't have to start until day 3 because when the aligners are really tight, they don't get all that grossness in them. I always rinse them well and brush with toothbrush and toothpaste before I put them in, but I find that they need the ...

Dental wax is the only thing that brings me relief for my cut up mouth. Filing never helped to soften the edges of my aligners. You can get the wax from your orthodontist but I think maybe I have seen it in Wal Mart and the like. The wax is kind of gross and annoying as well, but it is soft and so m...

Quarter way there!

Yep, I am one-quarter of the way there, and I am so happy with the way my teeth are looking. I am also on an even numbered tray which (for some odd reason) are the trays that don't cut up my mouth, so I am in a happier mood. :) I compared my first tray to this 6th one and was so pleased to see how m...

I am still having a hard time with them and honestly most people who know me have heard me say that I hate them. Are they better than metal? I have no idea. Is is good that they are mostly invisible and that we're not restricted in what we eat? Absolutely. And am I glad that my teeth will be straigh...

Your tongue will get used to the aligners being in, so don't worry that the lisp will stay forever. Mine stayed for quite awhile and sometimes it comes back when I change aligners, but then it goes away again. I don't think it's too hard to get the aligners off with attachments, but I have always ha...

Feel free to look at my comments regarding the first day, week of invisalign. I had speech problems, cut up tongue and other annoying things to deal with. But, if you want straight teeth, which you and I both do, then you have to deal with it. I have had more problems, I guess, than some people, or ...

i'm also going to have to file down the bottom like i did the first set; Explain to me how and what you use to "scrape the sides." Everytime I file down the plastic, I get it sharper, not more dull. Is there a secret to this? I have used a metal file, an emery board and a glass file for n...

Maybe try putting the new aligners in on a Friday night, so you don't have to talk much for the first few days.
I was wondering the same thing. I actually put the new ones in on a Wednesday. I hate the thought of waiting for two days, but it does seem to make sense and it would help. Thanks.

Thanks John 37 and Paul Inc. My daughter had some wax from her braces days, so she taught me how to put that at the edge of the aligner and sweet relief was mine. My tongue is still healing, and I worry a bit about my not making a callous on my tongue, but I knew I could not make it without some rel...

Help!! This post is going to sound exactly like the one dated September 9. Please help me. I just started on tray 3 and it's cutting up my tongue just like my first one. I have filed the inside as much as I can, but it isn't helping to dull the edges. I plan to use my daughter's wax, but honestly I ...

I also have 20 trays and I also paid $2200.00. My price includes the refinements and retainer in the end but wouldn't cover IPR or teeth extractions, two things that he suggested. He wanted an additional two thousand for IPR and an additional four thousand for teeth extractions (and extra trays and ...

I am sorry 24braceface that your speech is still a problem. I had Back to School Night last Friday and I figured I would tell the parents about my invisalign because I knew I'd be speaking funny, and then I realized I no longer speak with a lisp!! :D I still have a bit of the dry mouth and every aft...

I heard that you get that title depending on how many invisalign cases you do. So it really doesn't mean that you are better, per se, but I guess you could argue that the more cases an orthodontist does, the better he becomes. But then, you could argue that the invisalign techs do most of the stuff ...

John 37- I am looking forward to that point! I had it when I was younger and had retainers. I hated the feeling of the roof of my mouth! Right now I am struggling with the pain of eating and using my tongue to reach food while I am chewing. When I use my tongue, it gets cut on my attachments. So for...
