Re: Incisor and premolar extractions on lower jaw

Hazel, just curious if you have resolved this issue? I am now seeing another ortho who is using a removable appliance to move my bottom incisors back to where they were, prior to the tooth being unnecessarily pulled out and the incisors pulled back. The space will be hidden behind my canines with so...

Re: Incisor and premolar extractions on lower jaw

I would seriously question this. I would even get a second opinion. My bottom jaw is now too small for my top jaw and I cannot have an incisor implant put back in to correct it. I am in the process of getting 2 second opinions to resolve this. I wish I hadn't gotten the tooth pulled. I don't meant t...

euro and kitten, I can relate to your story. At first I thought I was crazy, but I now know that even a few mm difference in the position of one's teeth can throw things off dramatically. I have been looking into options for repairing the damage, and found a specialist in California. I plan to have ...

hello Eurodude, interesting that I happened to log on today. I have had braces for 2-1/2 years. I got a lower incisor extracted and I completely regret it. my tongue at rest position no longer fits into my mouth and I am biting it and clenching my teeth and almost forcing an 'underbite', if that mak...

I am with you. I am completely bored and frankly tired of this whole thing including all the swollen gums from the molar bands that don't agree with me. I am 2 and 1/2 years in and I barely post here anymore because there is NOTHING to report. What I could have done with some cosmetic dentistry and ...

I specifically asked my ortho to align my top midline with the middle of my top lip. It was off by at least 2mm and to me it was very noticeable.

Under Construction, years ago I had to get my canine taken out of the roof of my mouth because no one thought it could come down. Now, I have braces on to help create a bigger opening (baby canine was still there) and my dentist, ortho, and oral surgeon all recommend an implant over just closing the...

Is it safe that the elastics are moving my teeth so fast??!!

I have been in braces for 2 years, and today is the first time I have had elastics on. The single, painful rubberband starts at a lower canine, comes up around my two front teeth, and then back down to the other lower canine, effectively shutting my mouth completely. In a matter of hours, teeth that...

24braceface, my husband had severely crooked teeth corrected when he was 14. He is 43 now and has perfectly straight teeth. The reason - a permanent retainer on the inside of his bottom teeth. He has a metal band around each lower canine, with a thick wire connecting these six teeth together. Not ve...

Yes, the gap will close very quickly. I have had my molar bands taken off because of gum irritation, and the gaps close in about a week. They close so tightly, in fact, that when I had the band put back on a month later, I had to have spacers put in again. It does bother me, too, that teeth can move...

Allergic Reaction to Molar Bands - what now?

I haven't posted in a while. I have had braces for 16 months, and on and off, I have had many annoying gum problems. I thought if I kept my braces super-clean, it would prevent this type of problem. Well, I have been referred to a third doctor, and he thinks I am having allergic reactions to the met...

Irate Oral Surgeon

I haven't posted in so long, now two in a day. I will try to make this short. 1) Got lower wisdom teeth pulled one year ago. 2) IMMEDIATELY my cheeks sunk in - I used to have a round face. I have photos, one day = round face, next day= thin old-looking triangle face. I thought it was due to lower ja...

Hole in Gum?

HI all, haven't posted in a long time. Just waiting for teeth to move.... In the meantime, I developed what looked like a little 'pimple' on the lower side of my gum, between my molar and bicuspid. It burst (not so pleasant) and now I am left with a small pinhole that goes through my gum and leads u...
