Will Sliding Genioplasty Improve the Situation?

Hi, I need lower mandible advancement surgery due to an over bite of approximately 12mm I believe. My bottom teeth do lean out slightly lessening the gap between my top and bottom teeth. The need for surgery is mainly for cosmetic reasons. However several orthordontists have turned me away due to my...

Almost 50, how much was your lower jaw advanced? Did any of the other professionals such as the orthodontists try to discourage you from having surgery?

Orthodontic treatment without surgery would only make it look worse.. from what they tell me. They are actually throwing away thousands of dolla...

Thanks...

I need my lower jaw moved forward.. I have consulted with a surgeon a few years back..

However, I am interested in finding a surgeon who preforms this type of surgery on a regular basis.. and has a great reputation.

I felt someone here might know.

I'm working backwards.. I'd rather get information here on locating the best.. then find an orthodontist that knows of a surgeon that he thinks is good.

Thanks.. Mery, Jackie, Suetemi, Delag, and Loulou, It seems you all may have had more serious problems..(not just cosmetic) Nullalux may be the exception.. is that true? To answer your question.. I don't really have a support system at all.. so my incentive to do this is at the lowest point in my li...
