Hi.. I am doing so much better since my last post. I guess it just takes time to get adjusted to wearing a retainer. I wear my hawley retainer 24/7 and I am seeing movement! How can that be??? Going back to my Ortho in a couple of days to make sure all is still okay. I get scared thinking the Ortho ...

retainer problems

Hi..i am wearing a hawley retainer, top and bottom. Here's my question and concern. On my lower retainer, the U loop labial bow , there are two of them, one against each incisor, one loop is longer than the other. It doesn't look bad, but the longer one is very uncomfortable. Is this normal to have ...

HELP!!! woke up this morning looking like a blowfish!!! Please don't laugh! Just started wearing rubberbands coupled with powerchains, top and bottom. Could I be having a latex reaction?? My first thought was the powerchains have done this to me, being quite bulky, but after reading some of your pos...

I think my ortho has gone bonkers!..Here's my story...Saw the ortho on a monday for my scheduled appointment. He told me my teeth were looking great and I will be out of braces sooner than anticipated. I've been braced for 9 months and treatment was to last 18 to 24 months, so I was ecstatic!!! He a...

When I go to the movies I must have popcorn, isn't that the main reason for going? Ha!! I know its a "no no" and I try to eat slowly and carefully but I always pop off a bracket or break an archwire!!! I am sooo bad. I think that is when I swallowed the bracket. There are certain pleasure in life an...

Hi All...thank you all for your pep talk!!! I appreciate your honesty and sharing your experience with me. I felt kind of bad for complaining like I did and thought I may have gone over board...but like they say.."misery loves company." At least now I know I am not alone...
Thanks

Its great that you are all so happy to be wearing braces in your 50"s. I just turned 55 and got braces for the second time. I was clearly unhappy with the way my teeth had moved over the years especially my lower teeth so I took the plunge and been in braces since March. Well..let me tell you..I RAT...

At my last adjustment, the ortho had to force the archwire into a new back molar bracket that had fallen off 5 days prior. I though he would break my tooth, thank goodness that didn't happen. ALSO..get this...it was time to drill off those 2 little dots that were placed behind my upper two canine te...

is my ortho a sadist??

Do I have a low threshold to pain or is my ortho a sadist? Here's what happened...My lower teeth were the most crooked and during the alignment phase, each ortho visit was very painful. During my recent visit, my ortho tied in the last of the crooked tooth and I almost jumped out of the chair! Is th...
