Fret not, most of the time it takes a while. It was probably 9 months to a year after exposure that mine really started to move. My estimated time in braces was 30 to 32 months. Ended up being 49 months due to a stubborn canine. But it was all worth it in the end.

Same thing here . . . he said I had a little inflamation but after 4 years in braces, he said it is to be expected. I think they have gotten better though. I've been out of my braces a little over a month and I can tell a little difference.

I just take one finger on each side and pop it out. I notice that Lynn has a tool on her site that you can purchase to help get them out with. I'm not sure if anybody has tried it yet, might be helpful??

I have had my braces off for a littel over a week now. The thing that was so weird to me was that my teeth didn't really feel like they belong in my mouth---very weird feeling and it took at least a week for me to get use to it. Also getting use to not having brackets rubbing up against your mouth w...

I was in braces for 4 years (just had them taken off last week). I had ceramics on top and only had one to come off. The reason it came off was it was located next to my canine which had been impacted and he tied onto this bracket with a lot of pressure and the next day it broke in half and evidentl...

Thanks guys for all the compliments. . .

Yes, it's me, the same ole Gena from way back when, even when archwired was on Voy Forums . . . Those stubborn impacted canines take a long time getting into position--glad I only had to do one of them. Yes, I am wearing an Essix on the top but I have a bonded retainer on the back of the bottom ones...

Braces off yesterday . . . .

I haven't been on here in a log time so I'm not sure how many of you may remember me. I got my braces in July, 2003 and I am one of the impacted canine people. I finally got them taken off yesterday and am so pleased!! I attached an old photo also so you could see just how bad they really were. I ha...

That's funny you ask . . . no one in my everyday world seems to think it is such a big deal. Of course these are the same people that said "Why don't you just get it pulled". I can't name how many times I've heard that. Why get implants if you can have the real thing?? It is definitely a b...

My canine was lying horizontally in the palete. My ortho pulled the tip down, then rotated it and pulled it toward the opening all at the same time. I had to have my baby tooth pulled. It didn't have any decay and wasn't the least bit loose. They pulled it at the same time they did the exposure surg...

Mine was actually horizontally impacted in my palete too. The ortho first used a "mousetrap" to pull the tooth down. Then had to rotate it and pull it toward the position needed to be in with elastic threads. It was bonded and engaged for 2 years before it finally made it to where it is no...

Thanks guys for all your support. It really is amazing that a tooth can be moved that far isn't it? I'm just thankful for my ortho. He is so patient and is a stickler for perfection. He was telling me about one of his cases that had failed and it was almost like he was in tears for not being able to...

Bessie the Canine finally gets her bracket

Well, yesterday was a day I have been waiting on for 3 years and it finally happened. Bessie the canine was finally close enough to place a bracket and put in the archwire. She's still not positioned exactly right and I'll probably have to have some gum tissue removed but this is definitely a milest...
