I feel the same way. I absolutely hate my braces, and everyone looked at my teeth and said that I didn't need them, however, I have noticed some positive changes in my bite and face in general. I'll get them off soon and I will be VERY happy!

I had it done on several of my teeth and it didn't hurt at all. It was a little weird while the ortho was doing it, but I couldn't tell anyone had done anything after I left the office. It allowed my teeth to move without having to pull teeth or get surgery. I would say it's nothing to worry about.

That's strange. My orthodontist won't put them on the bottom, but i thought most offered the ceramics for the uppers. Try contacting one of the manufacturers and see if they can steer you to an ortho near you who uses them. As for pain, I haven't been in much and I've had mine on for about 9 months.

I had one guy say "Nice braces". I replied that they had better be because they cost 4k. He winced and said that he needed them too.
Other than that, people just tell me that I look younger with them.

My teeth are the same way, my two front teeth look much longer than the teeth on either side. I'm hoping that will get fixed soon.

I would be concerned that he would lose the braces. I know my friends all lost their retainers multiple times. That would be my main concern, outside of that, only the orthodontist can tell you if they would even work for him. I would have him get the braces now though.

I have a battery operated Sonic Care tooth brush that I'm taking on vacation. That might help.

I'm a teacher also and I've had very little difficulty speaking. I have had trouble with sore spots from my braces rubbing on my cheeks, so use the wax and it should be okay.

I got mine for functional and cosmetic reasons. My teeth looked fine, but my jaw is crooked, so I'll be having surgery to fix that and a cross bite.
