Hi, Blair,
It's really encouraging to see your great progress. I'm just wondering when your gaps were being closed, do you know if your back teeth were moved forward or not?
Thanks a lot!!!

I'm in my first elastic strength and I've had jaw joint pain (went away after 10 days), ear congestion (I bend down like bowing deep to make it go away), and sometime ear pain (sporadic). I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but it did happen to me...

New adjustment today, basically nothing happened, the ortho just changed out my upper and lower power chains and told me to start wearing my elastics only at night, since he thought they were creating an over jet now. But I told him I'm more comfortable in elastics because my lower front teeth won't...

Check out Chris1960's posts. Though not a lot of ortho will do that. All the 3 I asked told me for my case it's not possible. But Chris had better luck.

2 days until my next adjustment, so just take some notes for myself : 1. since the elastics got on, my bite really changed a lot when they are on, but when they are off, the bite seem to shift back. So far the molars don't seem to move any, at least not what I can tell 2. right 2nd premolar moved fo...

Bite all messed up during treatment before sorted out?

For all of you who have finished most part of your treatment, have you ever feel that your bite was completely messed up in the beginning or the middle of the treatment? Will it be sorted out eventually at the end?

Thanks, purpleteeth! I just hope this pain is not getting worse. I do feel a lot of changes in my bite these days, but just really worried about those will lead to TMJ:(

Thanks, Danielle,
So did the soreness go away when you take off the elastics? in other words, can you open your mouth wide when you remove the elastics?

Jaw joint pain with elastics

I started waring class III elastics one week ago and was fine with it until yesterday. One side of my jaw joint suddenly started to hurt when I try to open my mouth wide, especially when I have the elastics on. Has any one experienced this before? Is this a sign of developing TMJ or this is just tem...

Thanks, jt2lang! I just hope the rest of the treatment would be as smooth, which is hard to predict. I'll just have to wait it out.

I had the same traumatizing experience not long ago, I bled like hell after flossing underneath my molar band, and it hurts when using my tongue to press against the molar tooth. So what I did was to use mouth wash to irrigate beneath the molar band into the gum with a syringe and needle (I bet you ...

Back teeth couldn't really close tight last night, but it already get back closing ok now 3. lower front jaw is really sore due to the elastics 4. lower banded molars and premol...

Today I had a new adjustment following a emergency dentist visit. A week back when I was flossing underneath my lower molar bands, my gum was bleeding a lot, it was like oozing blood if I use my tongue to push against the gum tissue between the 1st molar and 2nd premolar. So I really freaked out, an...
