Re: What's invisalign like for bottom teeth?

Invisalign did a fantastic job on my bottom teeth :)

Although they looked worse than my top teeth, the problems were actually easier to fix because there was no extrusion or rotation to achieve. Once enough enamel had been removed from my teeth (IPR) they slotted right in!

Re: refinements = discouraged

If it's any comfort, they get more and more comfy as time goes on, and you'll hardly notice them by the end!

I had two lots of refinement, and was really pleased with even the small changes during the 2nd refinement. The time will whizz by, and you'll be pleased you did it in the end! :)

Nearly finished! It's only taken 2 years.....

Well ..... I thought I would come on and do an update now that my Invisalign journey is nearly finished. I haven't posted much for the last year or so, and thought it might be helpful to sum up some of the things I have experienced and learnt. Things that were easy: - Pushing lower incisors forwards...

I am just finishing up my second set of refinement, and am really pleased I persevered. Talk to your dentist, explain what you are unhappy about, and ask (in a friendly way!) what they think is the best way to rectify it. :) To be honest, my dentist probably would have stopped after my first refinem...

Hey there... I will echo the others and say that only an orthodontist can tell you for sure. However, your teeth look (to my inexperienced eye) like they need considerable work and the one that stands out to me is the canine. I have been doing this just about 2 years now, and the reason it has taken...

I just had some studio pictures taken recently for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. I took my aligners out for the photographs, figuring that the attachments are less visible than the shine from the aligners. The pictures are quite small (there are 7 of us in the photo!) and sure enough, you ca...

I thought I should add that my dentist gave me a copy of my IPR plan. I think that is a good idea, in case anyone suggests more IPR years in the future. I will know how much enamel was taken away in which places, so that I don't end up going through to the dentine! :)

Kinda looks like you'd need braces instead of invisalign. That's just my opinion. Looks like your just working on the social teeth ( the front ones) which is commendable too. LOL...... Hmmmmmm yes, braces would probably have got the same result quicker, but with more discomfort to me and risk to my...

The treatment plan specifies which teeth, exactly how much enamel the dentist should remove and when it should be done. It definitely isn't random  My dentist has occasionally done my IPR slightly early if two teeth have become very tightly pushed together, otherwise we've done it just before t...

What a cool way of showing your start/end Clinchecks! How did you do that?

Your teeth will look great once they are done :) Your treatment seems quite similar to mine - a crossbite to fix on the lateral incisors but your back teeth already look pretty good.

Try not to drink anything but water with them in. Most drinks contain sugar, and when you drink them with your retainers in, your teeth are basically sitting in a bath full of sugar. I cannot find the recent research which said how quickly tooth enamel corrodes when left in a sugar solution but it i...
