Post invisalign swelling gum issue - need help

So, I have an interesting story. I was fairly active on here years ago while receiving my Invisalign treatment. I had occasional issues with pain during treatment, like most people do, but rarely had any issues with my gums themselves except when I would accidentally improperly sit a tray and pinch ...

I may have answered my own questions by calling another dentist/periodontist. This guy that I just talked to is certified on the Periolase laser and has performed hundreds of treatments. He is also an Invisalign premier provider who is very familiar with Invisalign. The Periolase is much more succes...

Invisalign patient with periodontal issues, periolase??

Hi everyone, I've only got 4 more trays to go with my Invisalign. Unfortunately, while on the program, one of my perio pockets has gone from a 6 to an 8. The x-ray shows some bone loss. The ortho/dentist recommended I go see a periodontist. The perio guy says I need SURGERY, and we're waiting for th...

Honestly, it all has to do with how COMPLIANT you are. If you keep your trays in for the recommended 22 hours a day, you will most likely be able to change them every 2 weeks. The less complaint you are, the more it will hurt when you change trays. Pain is normal for the first 1-3 days after changin...

I can certainly say a LOT about this subject since I am a heavy coffee and alcohol drinker... I am half way done with my treatment, and everything seems to be going fine. I do drink vanilla iced coffee from Starbucks with a straw. I will usually take my trays out no later then 1 hour after drinking ...

Getting a Frenectomy in a couple weeks

My dentist forgot to do this at the beginning of my treatment, and I'm going to tray #10 tonight, and he said it's getting to the point where it will hinder treatment if I don't remove the tissue under my lips. Did anyone else get this done during, before, or after inviaslign? Any thing to watch out...

I think the key question is ... How long does it take before it does damage to your teeth? 5 minutes? 1 hour? 4 hours? If it's 4 hours, then definately I would think you could drink and every hour or two just wash them out. I've been going out to clubs and having a couple of drinks since I started m...

OWIE! My new aligner (#7 of 29) is sharp on the edges!!

My new aligner I just put in last night is sharp on the edges, and it's tearing up my tongue. I finally had to take it out to get some relief. Is there anything I can do, such as file the plastic down, or wax or something to help?

Nite White ACP & Invisalign

My friend at work gave me an extra syringe of her Nite White ACP (10%). I've used this before I got Invisalign and it seems to work good, although quite a bit of sensativity the next day. Has anyone used this while on the Invisalign program? Is it best to wait until the end of treatment or can I sta...

I was worried about this myself when I got mine. I drink every day when I come home from work, I like to have a couple glasses of wine, or a few ocean. Call me a nighttime alcoholic! LOL I haven't had any issues so far. I've gone both ways. I've taken the trays out, and drank for 5 or 6 hours, and t...

Drink lots of water. :) I've had mine for 14 weeks and have never had any issues like that, but I've always drank a lot of water with them in. Honestly, knock on WOOD, I don't know what's up with my body's immune system, but I haven't been sick for over a year, even way before I got Invisalign. I'll...

I have elastics with Invisalign. How they are used would depend on what you are trying to do with the elastics. In my case, I have little plastic hooks glued to the bottom of my lower canines and they cut a slit in the upper trays next to the first molars. The bands attach to the slit on the upper ...
