A Sliding Genioplasty is a chin surgery where a the jaw bone is cut and slid forward to create more projection in the chin and lower face. It is also called an Osseous Genioplasty, and is usually done by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in a hospital or a surgical center.
This type of Genioplasty is recommended for people whose chin is too far back in relation to the rest of their face. It can also help with correcting a chin that is pushed too far forward and is too long.
