A Root Canal Procedure replaces infected Pulp in a tooth’s Root canal with an inert material. The procedure usually removes or inactivates the nerves inside the tooth. When you have a Root Canal procedure, the inflamed or infected Pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed (often with an artificial Crown on top). Root Canal procedures are usually done by Endodontists.
