Double Jaw Surgery is the term used when the upper jaw (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible) are both corrected at the same time in one surgery. It is also known as Bimaxillary Osteotomy. The surgery aims to change the relationship between your lower and upper jaw to correct an imbalance. It is done by an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon and takes place under general anesthesia in a hospital or surgical center.
