Closing Loops are small loops that the Orthodontist shapes into your arch wire to help close gaps or spaces between your teeth (including extraction gaps). The loop creates a force in the wire, like a spring that wants to return to its original shape. This force helps to close the gaps. Closing Loops can come in many different shapes. Your Orthodontist will use the shape that produces the correct mechanics for your situation. Closing Loops are often combined with power chains, elastics, springs, and other devices to help bring your teeth and bite into their proper positions.
