The American Dental Association (ADA) is a non-profit professional association of dentists. It was established in 1859 and currently has more than 161,000 members. The ADA is the world’s largest and oldest national dental association. It strives to promote good oral health to the public while representing the dental profession. Its headquarters is based in the American Dental Association Building in Chicago, IL.
The ADA publishes a monthly journal, Journal of the American Dental Association, which contains dental-related articles. It also issues the ADA Seal of Acceptance for dental products that meet rigorous testing guidelines. Currently, more than 1,300 products have received the Seal of Acceptance.« Back to Glossary Index
