Has anyone else had this trouble after surgery?
I mean, I was asking for it: liquid diet that is FULL of sugar, clindamycin 4x a day, breathing through my mouth.
I'm going to call my doctor in the morning and hopefully he'll tell me to quit the antibiotics. And maybe phone in a script for an anti-fungal. |

I had oral thrush twice recently because i was being given soooooooo many a/b for Tonsilitis. I wasn't allowed to quit the a/b but was given an anti fungal to use aswell.
Iy came back because i needed more and more a/b's. All cleared up now and the Tonsilitis has gone too. |

I was convincing myself I did in the week after surgery, but the issues I was having resolved as soon as I was able to open my mouth a little better (could dry out a little more, could wash my tongue better, could force more liquids through, etc.) _________________ http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=33725

had it post op and it was a pain in the but for the first few weekscause i couldn't really clean my mouth, I was heavily banded, I was on anti biotics and the mouth wash but I had to switch anti biotics cause I had a bad reaction to them. I actually drank lots of ice tea and gingerale which seemed to calm the thrush down a bit so it maybe worth it to try that. _________________ Braced: March 19th 2008

| yeah I had BSSO 9 days ago, and I have oral thrush. I read on the internet that salt water rinses can help (1/2 a teaspoon in 1 cup of warm water), but it didn't work for me. I now have oral lozengers that I have to dissolve 4 times a day in my mouth. |
