As you can see, my midline is off, and I have a bicuspid (I think) extracted on the left side. We're going to leave it alone, and put an implant there in the future. I also have a bit of an overbite, which is going to be corrected as well. Aaannnddd...I'm going to be losing my two first bicuspids (well, nice knowing ya!).

I got my bottom ones put on, and had a bite plane put in. I opted for silver ligs this time, because the pretty lavendar I had on my top braces eventually turned a dirty pink color. :(

Yikes that tooth is really impacted! It's your wisdom, right? I had my lower horizontally impacted and needed surgery, it hurt a bit but the releive made me forget about the pain!
Good luck,
Joanna

Joanna20,

Yep, I believe it's my wisdom tooth. I'm a little nervous about the extraction because it sits on top of a blood vessel that leads into my chin, so if anything happens (which won't, haha), I'll lose sensation in my chin. Yikes!

I was told the same thing with my wisdom teeth extractions too, and mine went perfectly!

I was warned that the sensations can be anywhere from complete numbness to a tingly sensation. But I was lucky enough to not have anything!

Your teeth are lovely and white! Can't wait to see your results!

Hello Toothfairy!

Our stories sound pretty similar... I am getting braces to fix a bad bite and jaw popping that has been causing headaches! I need my wisdoms out, too and they are on a nerve as well....

I get my Braces the 16th, so we are just one day apart! Good luck and make sure to keep us posted!

Hi toothfairy! Congrats on starting the journey!
I have lingual brackets and my lower teeth hit my upper linguals when I eat. I even cannot close my mouth properly. In the first 2 weeks I wasn't able to eat anything but soups and mashed potatoes but since than somehow I manage to chew in my back teeth more or less so I can eat some soft food like pasta and soft meat. So I am sure you are going to manage to eat somehow soon! Just start slowly and carefully!

Congratulations antsika! I'm 28 and going in less then 2 weeks to have the braces put on :) I had 4 extractions (bicuspids) done on Wednesday and so far, so good...I'm just feeling a little sore, but no swelling or bruising, yay!

I was worried about spacers but the ortho said I won't need them because they're taking teeth out to make room, which makes me happy because I've heard horror stories about spacers, and my jaw is bothering me enough as it is!

Good luck on everything!

I got my top braces yesterday. I was at the office for about 2.5 hours, and ended up going with light purple/lavendar ligs. :)

At the moment, my teeth are a little tender and sore, but nothing extreme to the point of needing painkillers. It does feel a little like I have a cutlery set on my teeth, but I'm starting to get used to it.

Hi reba678! Your situation sounds a bit like mine - I'm 29 and I'm going to have 4 teeth out too before my braces  , which is a little time off yet, probably a couple of months, but am getting quite impatient to get started! What sort of braces are you going to have? Do you have an idea of treatment time? Keep us posted on how it all goes!
