Just a quickie about my 4th Adjustment for anyone who is interested!! :-Z

Basically - Good news about Pesky 1 - It is coming down at above average rate! :D Bad news about Pesky 2 - It hasn't budged at all! :( He told me that if it hasn't made any attempt to move after 9 months of them pulling it - then it probably isn't going to move - so if that happens I'll have to have the implant or bring the other teeth round. Fingers crossed it won't come to that! :)

I feel that the quick rate of Pesky 1 has helped balance out the lack of progress with the other one, so things could be worse!!

Other developments:

New thick Square archwire on the lowers
New threads on the canines
New ligs - Virtually all figure-of-8 this time

That's about it really! By the way - I saw a few other adults this time in the waiting room, so we are definitely not alone!

Take care

LUCY xxx

Thanks for all your comments. Well, here is my latest photo of Pesky1! :D Sorry if it is not all that clear though.

As you can see, it is now poking down from behind quite well now! All that I need now is for Pesky2 to follow suit!

Thanks everyone! :D Just a very quick update....

Pesky2 is starting to hurt a bit! :) Now, I don't know if that necessarily means anything or not, but I'm guessing it could be that it is trying to move! :D Fingers crossed it is anyway!!

That's good news about Pesky2 Lucy. You would think that if it were ankylosed it wouldn't hurt because it wouldn't move. so I think something is happening YAY!

Glad to hear some good news about Pesky2

Take Care
Shawnie

Ankylosed - Not sure if I'm spelling it right, but it means stuck to the bone and won't move. (not sure if this is the proper description, but it's the only way I can explain it)

It's the dreaded thing that all of us impacted canine people worry about because when they do the exposure surgery and pull down on the tooth they don't know if it will move because it could be ankylosed.

Hope that makes sense. If anyone else can explain this better, please chime in.

Thanks
Shawnie

Just a quickie, and apologies in advance if this doesn't make much sense. (I've been up for about 36 hours now and should really get some :-Z)

Anyway, I had my 5th (I think!) adjustment today (Tuesday). Nothing too eventful, apart from my ortho gouging out some bone without warning!!

I think the poor bloke was getting peed off with me nagging him about the lack of progress with Pesky2, so he was fiddling about and, before I knew it, he'd yanked out a piece of bone! (I think he only did it to shut me up!)

Well, here's hoping that will spur on Pesky2 to start moving. He said it is not in as good a position as Pesky1, which is maybe why it hasn't done much. Well, hopefully that bit of bone being out of the way will mean some progress!! :)

It bled a bit afterwards, but just feels odd - Like a little hole up the side of my other tooth!! Who cares though if it means something may happen!! Fingers crossed anyway.

Other than that - Just new elastic threads on the canines again and ligs changed. Wires still the same.

That's about it. Thanks for reading. I better head off.

Take care

LUCY xxx
