So I get my braces off in 2 weeks!!! The only problem is im having issues with my rubber bands.
I am currently wearing 3 rubber bands, and one of them is for a cross bite. The orthodontist told me that my bite is nearly perfect when I saw him a few days ago. So after I saw him, I continued wearing the rubber band for my crossbite, and I noticed something weird.. My bite didnt feel right while I was wearing it. it felt like it was being over corrected. My bite feels fine when I dont have that rubber band in though. Im still wearing the other two. Another thing happened liked this 3 months ago, but it was my left side. I called my doctor and he checked it out.. he told me to stop wearing that rubbber band and then it fixed itself. I tried calling him today but apparently he is going to be out of his office until monday, but I leave for a vacation tomorrow!!! So I need to trust my instincts again, cause I was right about it before!!! PLEASE, can someone just give me some guidance.

I am wearing cross elastics also and when they are in, my bite feels off. It should, because you have a rubber band going across your teeth. I would follow up with the dentist even if you are on vacation.

Absolutely keep wearing the elastics as instructed. It is the "over-correction" feeling that will make it correct when they come off.

I, too, am nearing the end of my treatment, but I was told the key to getting done is to be faithful to the elastics until the end !. Hope that encourages you! :)
