Looking forward to the next retainer check, as I suspect I will be 'released' from the *appointments carousel* and moved to *the call if you need us aka you're done* crowd. My top arch, where all the forward advancement was accomplished, hasn't budged a nanometer. The bottom gaplette, while contained by the retainer, might be a fact of life. Will address it again and see what tweekage happens with the magic pliers.

A moment of silence this evening, for the passing of my beloved Sonicare toothbrush. Santa brought it to me when I got wired up. It was a devoted friend, even when it spattered my mirror and clothing. It kept plaque at bay every single day, and removed all assorted debris from those traintracks. After switching dentists, I even shared it with my fella <his own brush on the main unit, ewww...people..come on!>, so he could benefit as much as I did from it's pleasant tingling sensations while it did all the heavy lifting of keeping our oral health it's primary goal. Thank you, Sonicare, may you find peace at the bottom of the rubbish heap at the local land fill. :-1

Funny we share cars (convertible PT's) and we both had our Sonicares pass away. My won't hold a charge long enough to brush my teeth.

Guess we'll share a shopping trip to buy a new one.

Funny how things work, huh iBorg? Already ordered a new one online, as it was waaaay cheaper than any 'drive-to' store. Yay for the huge west coast online shopping megastore (in case the spam filter changes the name of a store named for a big river in South America) :-*

Eagerly awaiting the delivery of my new sonicare..I've really missed it and the excellent job it does..manual is ok, but the tickling buzz of electric is so much better.....ummm, I just re-read that and it might allegedly have double entendre overtones..whoopsie

Hi - what does T/B mean after each stage of your braces in your signature line?

Hmmmmm......
You nailed me!

Drive a PT Convertible like Opera Girl....Already do that.
Sing well enough to be on stage? They make me serve in the concession stand.
Live in New York City. Not a chance in......

In many ways we're alike....but in others? She's too slow of a driver, too good of a singer and lives in the strangest place.

Retainer check again this morning went well. I asked about the lower gap issue and the ortho suggested that I pop in the bottom retainer a couple times during the day for an hour or two, to 'train' that gap to stay closed..much like training a dog :yikes:.. Well bow wow woof!!
I also asked about the clasp on the upper left retainer that was making a new home in my gum line, and that was an easy magic plier fix.
Biggest concern was the tubing on both retainers becoming stained and having calcus deposits despite religious cleanings. Ortho snipped off the offending ugliness and gave me a few curls of 'tooth colored' tubing, that I can go blind trying to carefully split with a blade and slide on/off..as a trial run. If it works, guess I'll need a spool of the stuff one I'm released from regular appointments (which might be after the next one :jump: ). Wish me luck playing with the sharp objects!!!

Update: cuticle scissors did the trick..tubing is clear once stretched over the retainer bow..seems a tighter fit than the previous tubing..onto gap training..'close boy, atta boy, close up for a yummy num num..good boy'

Cesar Milan's got nothin' on me..no siree! I'm 'training' this canine gap like a military drill instructor. Like clockwork, retainer off, retainer on, retainer off, retainer on, etc. Better see some improvement by the next ortho check or heads will roll..heads___will____roll :-* .
