It depends on your situation. For me I had my surgery 1 year ago and I'm still no where close to getting my braces off. but what kind of surgery did you have was it for a impacted canine or an under bite? mines was for the impacted canine.

usually six months to a year.

I've had a lefort 1 and was told prior it would be 3-6 months!

My ortho hasn't mentioned it since the surgery ( was a week ago today) but I do think I have quite a bit more work to be done to line my bite up. I'm thinking it will be more towards the 6 month mark for me!

Before surgery (which was in February) my orthodontist told me he didn't think it would take more than six months. I forgot to ask him about it at my first ortho visit after the surgery but I'm hoping he'll say the same thing!
