. I have not had my surgery yet, but I don't remember reading about people feeling quite that bad. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you out more.
Excruciating shooting pain in gum area between lip and nose

When I had stitch imflamation, it was very sharp and intense pain as well. Icing helped a lot. Maybe you should have a doc have a look at that area? Might be a little painful, but better than getting complications, isn't it?

did you have your top jaw impacted if soo the area you are talking about will have a an incition there
if it os only painful when you move you lip a certain way maybe you are subconiously moving your lip that way in your sleep causing you to wake up
also if you are not already you could try sleeping more up right as it could have something to doo with that ??? i don't really know
i also had a stich get inflammed it is no big deal jsut take some more rinces of your mouth wash and visit your surgeon if that is the case as they removed the stich for me that was bothering me and had no trouble since
but tbh not a clue i was never in reallly bad pain
