I don't have any experience in that field of bite turbos but I personally would try and get a little biteing pressure on all my teeth. But then again I'm no orthodontic professional!

Hey Tim, Thanks for stopping by. I'm looking forward to learning about your progress. Yeah, I guess I'll have to ask my ortho for more details. I would assume that more chewing/pressure is better but those dang bite turbos make me wonder...

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Thank you KK and Linda21 !

KK: I just keep telling myself that the orthodontist doesn't make money by screwing up people's teeth, so the outcome has got to be good (right?) I'm trying to keep a positive outlook on this process and do my best to be kind to my brackets, turbos, and teeth. Thank you for your positive words!

Linda21: I am so glad that you agree with me about my ortho. I thought that it was outrageous but I feared that maybe my experience was normal since I didn't get much feedback about it. Aside from that initial appointment, I am happy to report that day to day life with braces is just fine, thank you for your well wishes!

P.S. I tried the wet washcloth thing - it satisfied my teething tendencies  It feels good to get the rest of my teeth back SPAM SPAM SPAMMING.

Hello again,

Well all is well at the moment. I am moving along (I think ) and will be posting pics for my own amusement very soon. Third time is the charm for me and this set of turbos are treating me as well as can be expected.

Throughout these two weeks (it's only been two weeks?!! :yikes:) I've had a bracket that doesn't want to hold on to the wire. It would let go of the wire occasionally when I was eating or flossing, and I would press it back in. The assistant had warned me that the brackets sometimes randomly open, and she said just to close it, so that's what I've been doing. I figured that since I've been keeping an eye on it that it wasn't any big deal (not a big enough deal to go back there anyway :? ....yikes) But now it's really been popping out more frequently - so I reluctantly called in to the office. The assistant was very nice and suggested that maybe I just never fully locked the bracket closed...hmmm. I cleaned really well and got back there and *pop*, yep, that's different than all the other times I "closed" the door. I feel that the wire started popping out more frequently because there has been more movement and pressure on it (which is a good thing ), but now I'm feeling lots of tightness on that side and I'm bummed that I may have lost out on some progress because of that darn door (which is a bad thing :x ).

Ahh well, I'm just impatient. I've got lots of time to get these chompers in place. After all it's only been two weeks...still can't believe it! I guess I'm used to my mouth o' metal :D . On the plus side I haven't been sore for awhile now nor have I used wax in the past 5 or so days. Yay me! Image

Hurrah! for the turbos treating you well! I know exactly how it is, going "It's only been that long??" I'm sure time will start flying by. ;) I'm glad that you finally got that door to behave!

Here's to not being sore! :-88
Looking forward to those pictures.

I love your hubby's washcloth idea. I also have bite turbos so I'll have to try that!

WOW it's been awhile!! So much going on right now so I'm not thinkin' braces very often these days. However, I just had my first adjustment and got my heavier wire on. I decided to take pics since I wasn't sure that much had happened with my teeth....and voila!! ImageMOVEMENT! Image I'm super stoked!Image Check'em out

I'm very used to being behind bars now  , I don't hardly think about my braces anymore (and I thought that I'd never get used to them!). I have to say that time is moving slow though, because it feels like I've had them on for a year! But I don't mind waiting for these puppies to get into line. Next adjustment I may have my turbos removed :!: The next new device will be the infamous rubber-bands, I'm excited to get those going because I know that they'll be doing some important work.

Overall, I feel great about this decision. For anyone wondering whether or not they should do it....DO IT! It'll be different at first but then it will be old news, and then, you'll have straight teeth!!!

Thanks for visiting guys, I'll be checking on your stories to cheer for you!

Your teeth look fantastic. You have made great progress. It is brilliant that you have even forgotten about having braces.

Hope my treatment is as rapid as yours.

Thank you Karen, BeeHappy, Ken, and Chillin', I really appreciate your support.

Karen and Ken, yep, my attitude has improved greatly since seeing progress. It's just what I needed. I am thrilled that I've adjusted to the braces HOWEVER  (Ken are you psychic?) I have fallen out of the habit of daily flossing. I know I know  .... I'll get back on the wagon I promise. Thanks for the reminder  .

BeeHappy thanks for the support, can't wait to see your pics!! Oh and, good for you for taking the plunge, you'll get used to them before you know it!

Chillin-in-Grilz thanks for the comment!! I do think that my bite has changed a bit. Can't wait for those elastics to get things really moving!! You have had a whole lot of progress yourself!!! Very inspiring! I see that you have a debanding date.... :D Congrats!!

Your teeth are really looking good! The way they have already moved doesn't seem like it should take 17 months to finish. Maybe you will be a fast finisher.

Don't fret the elastics they too will become just an after thought qucikly enough.

Looking forward to your future posts.
