Hi,
I'm curious if you decided to get extractions? My teeth story is very similar to yours and a couple other people here.. bi-protrusive teeth.

It's very interesting to see all the bends in your wires, etc.. did they straighten out by themselves or did they just change the wire out later and not bend them? My ortho never made bends like that to my wire.. she's doing it now, on a 2nd wire she put on top of the main wire on top.. but that is only to keep the molars in the back from tipping inward (i think).

Hi Va5

Oh the bend! Haha yeah I was pretty curious why do my wire looks different and have the bend. THe orthon explain to me is to avoid from slipping and sliding, whatever that means. But i dont have it anymore, only have it for the first 2 or 3 months.

Not yet, I'm having appointment with the orthon this week and would want her to explain to me the consequence and the changes that I'm expecting after extraction. But, I'm satisfied to have few mm pulled back with just the IPR (filling of teeth). Lets see how well she can rest assured me or clear my doubts.

I read from a member the orthon are actually able to tell him the exact changes on the face profile, lips etc with some image generation. But looking at my orthon style, she is more concern about the teeth. Didnt really mentioned much on the profile changes.

Do you ahve pic of your teeth? Would like to see it. How many months are you in braces?

9 months in and counting! My orthon told me she is going to start retract my teeth in the next adjustment and will be kissing braces goodbye by end of the year!

Image

I have noticed even though teeth started to retract now, my front teeth has come down and smile been more gummier than last time. Not sure if my orthon can move my teeth up a little? i know that doesn't sound quite possible!

Hi Gracey :D

Your progress is great & in such a short time!!! Your teeth look wonderful and you have a gorgeous smile already. Wow, if I was still single.....

You mentioned the possibility of moving your front teeth up. I actually do think it's possible. I talked to my ortho about about moving mine down. He said it's possible to do, but not in my case 'cause it would expose the roots. I think it's possible to go the other way, too. They have to look at your x-rays, etc. Why don't you ask your ortho? Maybe she can do it.

Good luck with the rest of your treatment. I'll be watching for the final results.....

Hi Gracey!
Just curious if you have any updated pictures?
I think your progress up until April looks great, and I love how the IPR made your teeth look smaller and nicely shaped. I cannot wait for my ortho to do some IPR as well, but I don't think that'll come until later when I'm just about done (hopefully before Christmas).

Excellent progress! It seems like your teeth straightened out very fast. I'm curious as to what mechanics caused the 'gummy' smile, because I wouldn't mind a bit of gum exposure when smiling. Unless I smile really wide or I'm laughing, I really don't expose any gum while smiling, not over my front centrals.

"possible to do" move them down absolutely does not mean that it is possible at all to retract them back up.

from the side they still look much better. If they appear longer because they are now retracted, may be she can file them a bit?
