I wouldn't recommend it. The few times I forgot to take it off, I actually swallowed it. Kind of gross. I doesn't stay on when you are chewing.

I have, for sure. I know I've swallowed heaps of the stuff, but I always felt my sores especially needed protecting while I ate. (And I'm sure it just passes right on through, if you know what I mean!) Whatever stayed on through the meal, I would always remove it, brush my teeth, and put on new wax after -- you wouldn't want to leave bits of food trapped in and around the wax.
