can I drink spirits with an essix retainer?

Just as in the title. Will drinking (neat) spirits with the retainer in damage the retainer?

I had an Essix for about 3 months prior to getting a Vivera and did not see any issues (scotch mainly). Actually I never gave it a second thought .

Clear beverages shouldn't damage your retainer but that not what you should really be worrying about. Alcohol of any type contains calories, which means consuming it with your Essix in is a no-no due to decay.
