Hi All,

I got my bottom braces off about a month ago and my ortho wanted to wait and see if the teeth moved before fitting for a retainer, they looked great and were all perfectly line up and all, so i went back
this week and she said nothing had moved and wait another month to see if i need a retainer..

.. however, she cleaned some buildup that had been there for months and now my bottom teeth all line up at their tops but there's huge empty space between some of them at the gum line. She said something about the gums will grow between them but im not sure if thats even possible?

Anyone experienced something like this? I'm a little annoyed as i hadnt seen the gaps until i got home.

Yes this is possible. More than likely you had a huge tartar/plague buildup that pushed the gums down. Eventually they will move back in place. Dont sweat it!
