Retainers close gaps?

I`m gonna take my braces off soon, but I have one question. Can retainers close gaps? I`ve had speed-braces for 6 months. I really hope they can

They can in certain situations but why arent the gaps being closed while you are in the braces?

Because I`m gonna be on tv and want to take them off before...

Definitely better to close gaps before braces come off

Double check with your doctor.

Ok. If that is the best option, I`ll wear the braces a little bit longer. But I can`t wait to get them off!
